YOUR CHILD’S FIRST VISIT TO EYECARE KIDS HILLSDALE

Welcome to Eyecare Kids Hillsdale! Our caring optometrists have a special interest in children’s vision and are committed to ensuring your child receives exceptional eye care.

Your child’s first visit will take approximately 40-60 minutes and includes a friendly introduction to our clinic. Our optometrist will take the time to understand your child’s needs and personalise the eye test for their comfort.

During the visit, we will assess your child’s vision, eye health, and coordination using the latest diagnostic technology, such as retinal OCT scans and myopia management tools. If additional tests are necessary (e.g., a dilated eye exam or a behavioural optometry assessment), we will discuss these with you, including any associated costs.These tests may be arranged for a follow-up visit.

If your child requires spectacles, they can select from our extensive range of frames guided by our friendly optical dispensers.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE APPOINTMENT

A comprehensive eye test will evaluate your child’s vision and eye health, including a behavioural optometry assessment to check eye focusing, eye teaming, and tracking. In some instances, we may suggest additional tests, such as a dilated eye exam, to gain a more detailed understanding of your child’s eyes. The process and any associated costs will be thoroughly explained to you..

Why is a dilated eye exam recommended?

A dilated eye exam allows for a more thorough evaluation of your child’s eye health and prescription accuracy. Following the exam, your child may experience temporary blurred vision and increased sensitivity to light. To minimise any inconvenience, we recommend scheduling this test after school or at a time when your child can relax for the rest of the day.

APPOINTMENT POLICY

Late Arrivals: We understand that delays can happen, but please be aware that arriving late may require us to reschedule your appointment to ensure adequate time for all patients.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. Multiple cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee.
