WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE APPOINTMENT
Your child’s first visit will take approximately 30-60 minutes. Our optometrist will take the time to understand your child’s needs and personalise the eye test for their comfort.
During the visit, we will assess your child’s vision, eye health, and coordination using the latest diagnostic technology, such as retinal OCT scans and myopia management tools. If additional tests are necessary (e.g., a dilated eye exam or a behavioural optometry assessment), we will discuss these with you, including any associated costs.These tests may be arranged for a follow-up visit.
If your child requires spectacles, they can select from our extensive range of frames guided by our friendly optical dispensers.
Why is a dilated eye exam recommended?
A dilated eye exam allows for a more thorough evaluation of your child’s eye health and prescription accuracy. Following the exam, your child may experience temporary blurred vision and increased sensitivity to light. To minimise any inconvenience, we recommend scheduling this test after school or at a time when your child can relax for the rest of the day.
APPOINTMENT POLICY
Late Arrivals: We understand that delays can happen, but please be aware that arriving late may require us to reschedule your appointment to ensure adequate time for all patients.
Cancellation Policy: If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. Multiple cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee.
HOW TO FIND US
We are located at Kareela Shopping Village on Freya St (Shop T11, 1-13 Freya St Kareela 2232). This is on the level of Coles and next to the escalators. For directions, enter ‘Kareela Village’ into Google Maps. If you are driving, enter through Bates Drive or Freya St. Free all-day parking is available at the shopping centre.
