Dr Claresta Soesanto (Optometrist) began her optometry career in Tamworth, NSW upon graduating from the University of New South Wales. She believes in providing all patients with a comprehensive and thorough eye examination.

Claresta Soesanto has a special interest in strabismus/eye turns, orthokeratology (Ortho-K), specialty contact lens fitting for keratoconus, and diseases of the eye. She was the recipient of the UNSW Faculty of Science Vacation Research Scholarship in the area of Orthokeratology or Corneal Refractive Therapy in 2009.

She has completed courses in Behavioural Optometry and Vision Therapy run by the Australian College of Behavioural Optometry and as part of the Optometric Extension Program. She is currently undergoing further studies in Behavioural Optometry at UNSW.

She is therapeutically endorsed to prescribe medications to treat anterior eye infections, inflammations and also to co-manage glaucoma. She has experience in co-managing patients following corrective laser surgery. She is also experienced in foreign body removals and the treatment of dry eyes.

Beyond Work

Beyond Work
Claresta is actively involved in her church and loves to spend time with her toddler daughter. Claresta also has interest in community eyecare. She was actively involved in raising funds for eyecare projects overseas through the organisation, Optometry Giving Sight. She was a recipient of the Optometry Giving Sight Chairman’s Award in 2008 as a result of her involvement.
